In order to be a successful Songwriter, you need to have much more than just good songs: after all, what is a ‘good’ song anyway ? It’s so subjective. There are, though, a number of things that you must get absolutely right otherwise you will likely never be successful. When working with a Songwriter, we first look at the styles he/she wants to write AND what the marketplace is looking for. Certain kinds of songs are more “cover-friendly” than others, and some styles are almost impossible to get recorded by signed artists. So, it’s important to get a reality check and be focused on where the demand is for new songs.

Deciding where you “fit” in the world of Songwriting, by using your musical strengths, is one of the most important things we do together.

Once we’ve decided on the kind of songwriter you’ll be, we can then plan on how you’re going to get successful. Getting a Publisher interested in your songs is vital, as a good publisher is crucial to your Songwriting career, so that’s something we’ll cover in-depth.
